Not sure yet what to get your sweetheart for Valentine’s Day yet? For lazy lovers in Toronto, The DLB suggests picking up one of artist/musician Deane Hughes’ glowing resin hearts.

Of his his bizarre creations, Hughes has this to say: “I adore Mexican Day of the Dead art and for the past several years have been making and selling my own Day of the Dead skeleton figurine boxes for Hallowe’en.

This year, I am making “La Luz del Corazón” (the light of the heart) as a twist on the theme but still in the rustic Mexican street-art style that I like. These are handmade boxes with anatomically-correct hearts, sculpted and individually cast in clear resin. The hearts light up with back-lit mini-lights and a whole ton of red sparkles!

The boxes are available from now until after Valentine’s Day at The Drake General Store (1144 Queen West location). They are priced at $60 and batteries are included!”
