VOLBEAT RETURN TO NORTH AMERICA / COAST TO COAST TOUR BEGINS AUGUST 13 IN NYC

VOLBEAT ANNOUNCES RETURN TO NORTH AMERICA
Coast-to coast tour to begin August 13 in New York City
REVOLVER MAGAZINE TO PRESENT
PRESS RELEASE:
Denmark — Danish metal quartet Volbeat has announced plans to return to North America for a two-week coast-to-coast run in August. The tour will begin in New York City with an appearance on August 13 at the Gramercy Theatre, then the band heads to Canada for a one-off show in Toronto, and finally back to the States where they play throughout the Midwest before heading towards the west coast.
The two week excursion will be presented by Revolver Magazine.  Revolver.com will be live with a promotion throughout July.  Multiple newsworthy initiatives that will be featured on the site will be forthcoming shortly.  The magazine is the only U.S.-based publication green-lit to feature a behind-the-scenes glimpse in to the recording sessions of Volbeat’s fourth studio album Beyond Hell/Above Heaven (Vertigo/Universal Germany) coming this Fall in Europe and early 2011 in the United States.  That article will run in the July / August issue of Revolver on-sale June 22.  Singer Michael Poulsen shared, “Revolver has been there for Volbeat since we began coming over to North America.  We are thankful for their continued interest, and the support of their readers, many of which are our most vocal fans.  We look forward to seeing you this summer.”
Since the Danish metal quartet’s formation in October, 2001, VOLBEAT has steadily risen to become one of the major attractions in the European scene.  In an age of retreads, the band has been offering a unique blend of metallic hard rock alongside inspired Elvis-tinged melodies, and the world has taken notice.  They recently entered in to a licensing agreement with Vertigo/Universal Germany, following significant success with Netherlands-based independent label Mascot Records.  All three of the band’s prior releases from Mascot Records have been certified gold in Denmark, while Guitar Gangsters & Cadillac Blood (2008) and Rock The Rebel/Metal The Devil (2007) achieved platinum sales.  Over the past year, Volbeat has toured in both North America and Europe with Metallica, and currently are booked for an extensive festival and headline run overseas.  Volbeat is Michael Poulsen (Vocals / Guitar), Anders Kjølholm (Bass), Jon Larsen (Drums) and Thomas Bredahl (Guitar).   On February 16, the long-form double DVD set LIVE: SOLD-OUT! was released in North America by Mascot Records.
DOMMIN is the opening act on all dates.  THE SLEEPING are direct support 8/13-20.   Direct support for the West Coast dates is not yet confirmed.
