Having been on the Silent Hill: Revelation 3D set, I can tell you that the people who made it were committed, enthusiastic, and looking forward to taking the legacy of the first Silent Hill film, as well as that of the video games upon which the franchise is based, and moving them forward with the sequel.

SILENT HILL 2 BEGINS PRINCIPAL PHOTOGRAPHY TODAY IN TORONTO

This day has been a long time coming. The second Silent Hill film, Silent Hill: Revelation 3D, began filming today (March 7) in Toronto.

From the press release:

Davis Films producer Samuel Hadida and Don Carmody announced today that rising star Adelaide Clemens (X-Men Origins : Wolverine, Vampire, Camilla Dickinson, Wasted on the Young, next starring in Mad Max: Fury Road) and Kit Harington (HBO’s upcoming series Game of Thrones) will top-line Silent Hill: Revelation 3D.  The film begins lensing in Toronto on March 7th and is directed by Michael J. Bassett (Solomon Kane, Deathwatch). Alliance Films will distribute in Canada.  International sales are being handled by Lionsgate.

Case 39 was shot in late 2006, first scheduled for release to theatres in August 2008, and finally released on DVD and Blu-ray this week. It must be monumentally bad, yes? Fortunately no, although we can see why Paramount, the studio that produced it, might not be sure how to market it.
